What are Tasks? - (NOT using the PlaytestCloud: Be a Playtester app)
You may sometimes get a playtest that has special tasks. These are displayed differently depending on whether or not you are using the PlaytestCloud: Be a Playtester app.
Note: This article is for when you are NOT using the app. If you are using it and need advice about tasks, check out this article
Here's how a playtest with tasks works!
When you open the game, you’ll see the tasks in a grey circle on your screen. By clicking on this circle, you can open and close the tasks.
Tasks are for when the game developer needs to see you do something specific while you’re playing. This may be because they already know there is an issue in the game or they want to test a new feature being implemented.
We’ve also numbered the tasks in red so you know how many you have completed. You can also move forward and back in the tasks as much as you like!
You’ll need to complete the tasks one by one. Please do not read the tasks first and then try to remember what they are to skip to the next one. Only mark the box saying “I’ve completed this task” when you have completed the task
If you have any problems with a task, try to do your best to complete it and talk us through what you're finding difficult. If you find that it is impossible, move on with the playtest as long as that task didn't affect your course through the game. Once you've completed the test, let us know so that we have a heads up about your issue. We will then be able to take this into account when it comes to your reward payment.
