How to install a game: Android and iOS

(For troubleshooting, see below)

What you need to play Android games:

  • A recent Android device
  • Android 10 or better (except Amazon Fire Tablets)

What you need to playtest iOS games:

  • A recent iPhone or iPad.
    • Supported devices are: iPhone 8 or better, iPad Pro, iPad Air (3nd generation +), iPad mini (5th generation +), iPad (5th generation +).
  • iOS 16 or newer.

As well as (for all device types)

  • Headphones/earphones - we are wireless headphone compatible!
  • WiFi connection

Installing the games

Once you've been picked to participate in a mobile game test, please do the following:

1. Follow the link

If you have received an invitation email for this test, it contains a button saying "Install the game on your device". Pressing the button will take you to the install page.

If you received the link directly, just click it or copy it into your Safari/Chrome browser on your device. 

2. Agree to the NDA

As the games that PlaytestCloud tests are confidential, you need to accept the terms of our non-disclosure agreement to access the game test. To do this, please read the NDA. If you agree to it, type "I accept" in the input box at the bottom. Once you've done that, you will automatically be forwarded to the next page.

3. If necessary, install the PTC app, or if you already have the app, get started!

If you need the app to record, you will taken to a screen that mentions the app. There you will be prompted either to install or open the the app or just continue with the playtest in app if it has already been installed!

Note: If you are not taken to a screen to install/start the app, the game already has recording software included in the build.

4. Start the test

After the installation is complete, the game is available in between your other apps. The name might sometimes be a bit different from when you installed it. It should be pretty easy to spot though.

Just follow the steps in the app to get started with setting up the recording or - if you're not using the app - open the game to begin recording.
