I've been invited for an interview - what does that mean?

So you’ve been selected to take part in a scheduled session - that’s great!

A game developer or games-user researcher will join you at your allocated time and ask you all about gaming. Depending on the screener surveys that you have completed recently, the interview could be about your particular gaming experience, a previous playtest, or your views on gaming in general.

Interviews with gameplay

Sometimes you will be playing a game during the interview. This is an interview with gameplay! Before you join the interview, the app will prompt you to install the game on your device. Don't play the game yet, though! The interviewer will need to watch you play, so they'll let you know when to share your screen and begin.

Get set up nice and early

You'll need to have the PlaytestCloud app downloaded and ready on your device before you join, so it’s best that you get prepared as soon as your time slot in confirmed. This is in case any issues arise, so it's your responsibility to ensure that you are ready or that any issues have been reported.

Please join the interview 10 minutes ahead of time so that you’re good to go when the time comes! You can join using the link in your invitation email.

Can't make it?

If you're not able to attend the interview please let us know as soon as possible using the "Can't make it?" link in your invite email.

Don't forget that the time slot is also scheduled for the interviewer, so if you can't attend we'll need to replace you. If you do not inform us that you can't make it and are a no-show, this will negatively affect your playtesting profile.

Cancellations for interviews

These can occur - we'll send you an email to inform you. If the cancellation is within a few hours of the scheduled session then you will receive some of the reward amount. Please speak to the community team at help@playtestcloud.com if you have any questions about this.

Be careful: Your time slot will be cancelled if you become unsubscribed from our automated emails. This is because our system won't be able to provide any updates.
