Playtesting With Kids!

You may know that we have been play testing with kids for a while now - you might even have done some with your child!

To take part in a playtest with your child, you will need to have them there with you and they must play the game themselves. For legal reasons, to include a child on your profile, you will need to be the parent of that child. Only one child can take part in any one playtest.

We’ll let you know in the invitation email we send who needs to play the game. Here's an example of what it will look like in the email:

For playtesters in the USA, PlaytestCloud is proud to say that it is compliant with The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Federal Trade Commission.

For those in the EU, we adhere to children's privacy guidelines under GDPR, and for testers in the UK we follow the Children's Code for data protection. This means that you will need to verify your identity to allow your child to playtest on your profile: It takes less than 5 minutes and will increase your chances of playtests in the future!

As we need to follow these guidelines, only parents and their children will be able to take part in playtests, i.e. not grandparents and their grandchildren.

What we expect from our testers in a kids' playtest

We understand that children are usually not able to express themselves in the same way as adults. What is most important is that they talk about if they like or dislike something and why. You can encourage your child, but please do not talk or play for them. Let them explore the game how they like and help them if they are stuck.
