Can playtests harm my device?

When you start playtesting, your phone or device may ask if you are happy to install from third parties.

This is a standard security feature put in place by the makers of your device for anything that hasn't been downloaded from an app store.

Many of the games you are going to be testing are still in development, so they're not found in an app store. This is why the message can appear.

Next steps

To get around this, you may need to bypass the message and trust PlaytestCloud as a third party. After this, you will be able to continue with the tests.

Of course, if you're not happy to continue with playtesting then please feel free to stop, and we will help you with removing your profile.

If it helps to ease your mind, however, we have a very large pool of testers who have taken part in our playtests for a long time, some for many years.

Like gaming on PC too? We'll be introducing PC playtests later this year! To get prepared for those, you can now add Windows PC's to your profile!
