Does the recording stop automatically once the required time is reached?

No, you will need to stop the recording yourself in all playtests.

Alongside the recording time requirement, many of our playtests contain tasks that need to be completed while recording. We therefore need our testers to stop the recording when they feel that all the tasks have been completed.

When completing a playtest, you must make sure that both the time requirement and any included tasks have been completed.

To end the recording in the PlaytestCloud app...

... return to the app and tap the 'Stop recording' or 'Pause recording' button, as shown here on an Android device:

iOS note:

In the case of iOS devices, you can also stop the recording from the control center (swiping down the screen from the top), but be mindful that you can't restart the recording from there. You still have to manually restart it from the PlaytestCloud app.

To end the recording outside of the PlaytestCloud app...

... simply close the game you are playing. This will stop the recording, while the upload continues in the background.

Don't forget:

When recording with the app, you're recording your whole screen and therefore any notifications you receive, so it's a good idea to turn on Do Not Disturb. If something comes up and you need to leave the playtest for a short time, that's fine! You can return to it by reopening the app.
