The recording function in the app keeps stopping

If you find that the recording keeps stopping in the app, here are some things that you could try to improve your experience:

  • Close any unnecessary background apps, as these could be taking up valuable memory on your device. It could also help if you are having difficulties with your mic. 
  • Check to see how much space you have available on your device. If it is very full then this can cause the app to have difficulties.
  • Check that you are running the most recent versions of your mobile device and of the PlaytestCloud app.
  • Restart your device as this is surprisingly effective.
  • Also, ensure that you're connected to strong wifi while you're playing. If the connection is intermittent or is being used by multiple people at once, this can have an effect.

Experiencing this issue on iOS 14 or 15?

Some testers have been having an issue with iPhone's 14/15 ProMotion feature, which constantly stops your recording while you play. 

We're currently working on releasing a fix to this in our next app update, which is expected to be ready soon.

In case you're experiencing this, you can try going to your phone's settings/accessibility/motion and limiting your iPhone's frame rate. This will deactivate the ProMotion feature and hopefully allow you to continue with your test. You can activate ProMotion back when you finish it.
