What do you record on my screen?
When you activate the recording before your playtest, you'll see a notification similar to that shown in the screenshot at the bottom of this article 👇 .
How to know your screen is being recorded:
For iOS users, after allowing the software to record, you can see the instant upload notification in the notification bar as proof of recording.
For Android users, after you start the recording, you'll see a red frame around your screen.
For PC users, once you start recording, you'll see a light orange border around what you're recording.
What about my other apps and notifications?
At this point, your screen (and everything on it) is being recorded so please take care to not switch between the playtest and another app that is separate from playtesting.
If a notification comes through and is recorded, the recording can be edited so that the game developer will not see it. Please keep this in mind. However, we do suggest that you turn on Do Not Disturb, as this is the best way to ensure that your notifications and conversations are kept private.
The recording will stop when you manually end it in the app. The red frame will go away on Android devices.
Protecting your privacy
Our review team will always do their best to remove any notifications from other apps shown in your recording, however there is always the possibility that these could be missed. The best way to ensure that nothing personal is recorded is to turn on Do Not Disturb.
