When does the follow-up survey need to be completed by?
The tester grace period in single-session playtests
In playtests that only require one playtest session to be recorded, each tester has a 12-hour time window in which they need to record and complete their follow-up survey. This time begins as soon as the game is opened to playtest it. Everything must be completed within this timeframe in order to be accepted.
The game developer wants feedback about what you have done, so we want those thoughts to still be fresh and no details to be forgotten. This is why we can’t accept surveys submitted any later than this.
In longitudinal playtests...
... each session and survey needs to be completed on one calendar day, to be accepted as a completed day.
In multisession playtests...
... there is normally a break that needs to be taken between completing the survey and being able to record the next session. It's best to complete the survey as soon as possible so that the break can begin. Keep the deadline in mind when taking part in these playtests.
