How to activate a beta branch in Steam

Some of the games you will playtest in Steam will require you to activate a beta branch. This means that you will be playtesting a specific beta version of the game.

In order to do this, follow these steps:

Install the game. If the game requires a Steam Key you can have a look at this guide to see the steps to activate it.
Check the Special Instructions section in the email invite and look for the beta branch code. This code could be inside an external doc, in which case you'll see the link to it in the same section of the email. Copy this code.
Go to Steam > Library and right click on the game's name.
Select "Properties" and then go to the "Betas" section.
Paste the beta branch code in the "Private Betas" box and then press "Check Code".

You'll then be able to select the Beta Branch in the dropdown menu under "Beta Participation".

Select the beta branch that corresponds to the playtest.
Once you select it, Steam will automatically start downloading the branch.
